About
Standing on the Word Outreach
“We’re reaching down to lift the homeless up.”
We are a faith-based nonprofit organization serving the unhoused and underserved with compassion, dignity, and the love of Christ.
We typically go out on the 2nd and 4th Friday nights of the month, providing hot meals, bottled water, new socks, new underwear and essential items to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, We also offer prayer, encouragement, and connection, reminding everyone they are seen and loved.
Our mission goes beyond outreach—it’s about restoration. Love in action can change lives—one meal, one prayer, and one person at a time.

PROGRAMS & SERVICES
Community Food Support
Standing On The Word Outreach provides groceries to low-income households at the end of each month—when food supplies may run low or run out for many families. These distributions are made possible only when food is donated and available, allowing us to steward resources responsibly while meeting real community needs.
Christmas Holiday Toy Give-Away
Each year, we host an annual Christmas Holiday Toy Give-Away to bring joy, hope, and relief to families during the holiday season. This outreach helps ensure that children in our community experience the love and generosity of Christmas.
Tiers to Success Program
Tiers to Success is our restoration and recovery support program for individuals experiencing homelessness who express a desire for change. While serving on Friday nights, when individuals share interest in overcoming substance addiction, our team provides transportation to Cherry Hill Detox Center in San Leandro, California. If the individual qualifies for the program, we obtain their contact information and coordinate with the program manager to follow up and support them throughout their recovery journey in any way we are able.
